The one word we all know too well but not always so easy to apply. The thing is there's definitely an immense power in forgiving, simply for the fact that it is more about you than the other person. Whenever we experience wrong or injustice dismissing the facts of the wrongdoing is not the best thing to ever do. One has to admit and actually come to terms with another person's actions, denial should never be an option. However, nonetheless, to avoid further damage to yourself it's vital to learn the importance and have the ability to forgive. With forgiveness you release yourself from an entrapment, removing hinderances and obstacles off your way, enabling you to move and propel forward to a better, healthier and more joyful place.
If we look into it deeper, when you hold a grudge against someone do you even realise that you're causing unnecessary pain to yourself and allowing the person and their wrong live in your head rent free? No! That's too much and too expensive for your wellbeing so just cut off the ties and never allow anything of such to hold you bound.
As the other person moves on with their lives, make the choice to move on with yours too allowing nobody to disturb your peace or have such power over you either. If you are ever finding it hard and difficult to forgive and let go, it's okay so do not be too hard on yourself. Take time to process your emotions properly and then take it step-by-step and day-by-day at a steady pace. Little steps are still steps and one day you'll look back and see how far you've come and seeing how free you are becoming will be something to be proud of.
Knowing that it's God's will for us to forgive others as He does so to us and forgets our wrongs, He wants us to do the same. The amazing thing to know is that He will help us to forgive and empowers us to do so through His grace and mercy. Every day is an opportunity to grow and become more like Christ our Lord who is good. So, pray for your heart asking for help as He's kind, patient, good and will get you through it.
"For if you forgive others their trespasses (their reckless and willful sins), your heavenly Father will also forgive you." (Matthew 6 vs 14 AMP)
